The central aim of the English Department in St Patrick’s is to seek to develop our pupils’ ability to communicate accurately and appropriately in speech and writing, to understand and respond imaginatively to a variety of media and to foster an appreciation and enjoyment of literature to help understand themselves and others.
The department has fully embraced the Northern Ireland Curriculum and is implementing the changes within.
English provides a broad spectrum of examinations ranging from Higher Level GCSE in English Language and Literature to Entry Level English.
