PUNCTUALITY AND ATTENDANCE
Punctuality
Punctuality is an important part of self-discipline and is essential to good time management.
Always make sure that you are in the appropriate classroom on time.
If you arrive after 09.10 am then you must sign in at Sinead’s office. You will be marked late in the register and will need a note explaining the reason for late arrival.
Attendance
The proper place for you to be on a school day is at school. If you are not in school then you must have a justifiable reason. Your parents should record an explanation for your absence at the back of your daybook. This should be shown to your Form Teacher on the day you return to school.
Parents are requested not to arrange family holidays during term time. Where this is unavoidable requests for leave of absence should be made in writing well in advance of the date.
The school’s Education Welfare Officer and the Vice-Principal meet fortnightly to review attendance. Attendance certificates are awarded termly for full attendance.
Form Teachers and Heads of Year monitor attendance and punctuality on a weekly basis.
