- Sport
Gaelic games, football, hurling, camogie, basketball, gymnastics, fishing, volleyball, indoor soccer. Success of 2001/2 Under 14 Hurling County finalists, under 16 hurling finalists, under 16 basketball champions and several individual successes at the Co. Derry Sports.
The school supports The Youth Sport Initiative, whereby Pupils from neighbouring primary schools are invited and encouraged to participate in after school sport.
- Library Club
St. Patrick's has a thriving Library club operating at lunch time to encourage an interest in reading and independent learning.
- Public Speaking
Pupils are encouraged to become involved in debating and public speaking. The school has had considerable success in this field, having won The Bank of Ireland Competition for the third time, The Limavady District Accident Prevention competition and the Irish Speaking Competition "Abair".
- Maths Challenge
St. Patrick's encourages a healthy interest in Mathematics through competition. In this regard St. Patrick's took a gold award for their placing in the top 6% of the whole of the UK.
St. Patrick's also promotes Mathematics through partnership learning with parents, an initiative to make maths fun through games.
- Charities
Pupils raised £1835 for Trocaire, £3005 for Multiple Sclerosis, £500 for The Hospital charity book and £50 for The Foyle Hospice.
- Music
St. Patrick's, being blessed with musical talent has achieved huge success with the choir. The choir has won NSPCC North West Choir of the year, Coleraine Music Festival Under14 section and most promising senior school choir award. The UTV choir of the year , highly commended in the Western area heat.
In 2001, we staged a very successful musical "Oaklahoma". This performance was the first for over 20 years. Its success was due to the work and talent of pupils and the commitment and work of all the staff, led by Music Teacher Mr. Kelly and English Teacher Mr. Coyle.
In 2002, pupils excelled themselves in their performance of "Calamity Jane".
- Languages
Numerous pupils attend residential courses at the Donegal Gaeltacht. Pupils are encouraged to use their language skills in their participation in language quizzes. This has yielded success in the winning of The White Horse Shield for Irish speaking. St. Patrick's has had numerous trips to France, as part of an EMU project in conjunction with Dungiven High school.
- Coursework club
St. Patrick's College, promoting personal excellence, provides opportunities for pupils to take extra tuition and individual lesson support after school. This facility is particularly popular with year 12 pupils, who have set themselves high personal targets.
- Annual newsletter is produced for pupils and parents. This is collated, written and edited by a team of pupils under the guidance of Mr Smith.
