The assembly hall was filled to capacity well before the 8pm start and there was a definite buzz of excitement among the crowd, while the soloists began to feel the nerves backstage.
To their credit, each pupil performed admirably and a special mention goes to the five year 8 pupils who were taking to the stage for the first time. Well done to Meghan, Chloe, Hollie, Niamh and Dylan for having the guts and determination to take to the stage at eleven or twelve years of age. I hope you all enjoyed the experience.
The audience had a very difficult task in trying to choose their two nominations because the vocal standard and the level of the overall performances were extremely high.
However, the results were announced and although there were only 4 boys in the competition Raymond and Dylan were announced as runners up. The winner was Miss Naomi Bradley from 12T who was being Celine Dion for the night.
Congratulations to you Naomi! You worked very hard and you were a worthy winner.
Well done.
Naomi now goes to the Ulster Hall in March to compete against the winners from all the other participating schools and we wish her the very best of luck!
